Baptist Names New Chief Nursing Officer – Fort Smith & Van Buren

FORT SMITH, Ark.
– Brandi Stewart, MBA, BSN, RN, recently joined Baptist Health as the chief nursing officer for Baptist Health hospitals in Fort Smith and Van Buren as well as the system’s River Valley clinics.

Stewart has 25 years of nursing experience and most recently served as vice president and chief nursing officer of INTEGRIS Health Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma. During her time there, Stewart spearheaded numerous initiatives to improve patient experience and quality outcomes.

“I’m passionate about working closely with all members of a patient’s care team to improve safety, communication and the overall experience for both the patient and their families,” Stewart said.

Stewart earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma, in 2011 and later went on to earn a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from American Sentinel University, in Aurora, Colorado, in 2015.

“Brandi brings a rare blend of leadership in nonprofit and for-profit sectors and a deep understanding of faith-based health care,” said Baptist Health Region President Jeff Carrier,.  “Her experience in advancing health care missions make her an exceptional addition to Baptist Health.”

The Oklahoma native is married with three adult children and three grandchildren. She enjoys camping, hiking and spending time with her family in her free time.
