A winter-forward sip that blends red wine and dark cherry with just enough brightness to balance a rich, cozy meal. Ready for a mocktail? Simply eliminate the wine.
INGREDIENTS
4–5 fresh pitted or thawed frozen cherries
1 Tablespoon honey or simple syrup
1 teaspoon lemon juice
orange peel
1 cup dry red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot)
ice
splash of soda water (optional)
METHOD
Add cherries, lemon juice, and honey or simple syrup to a rocks glass. Gently muddle to release the juices. Add ice, then pour in red wine. Express an orange peel over the glass and drop it in. Stir gently. Add a splash of soda water if desired. Garnish with an additional cherry.
Always drink responsibly. Never drink, then drive.
