Prepare ye for the Broadway sensation! The Community School of the Arts is proud to present the hit musical Godspell this summer. Directed by Cody Walls, choreography by Dylan Blackwood, and stage management by Mylee Brown. Performances will be held at the King Opera House in Van Buren on Friday, July 28 at 7pn and Saturday, July 29 at 2pm and 7pm.
Written by musical theatre composer Stephen Schwartz, Godspell utilizes a variety of unique storytelling techniques to bring the Gospel of Matthew to life. A group of people, The Believers, tell different parables using modern references and an electric blend of songs ranging in style as the story of Jesus’ life is told. Written in the ‘70s and updated in 2012, Godspell is a phenomenon that continues to captivate audiences! Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for students, or $12 for groups of 10 or more.
