Community School of the Arts is excited to announce Pop, Rock, & All That Jazz, a vocal and instrumental music camp, open to Arkansas students entering grades 7-12. The camp, directed by Don Bailey, will take place July 10-14 from 9am to 4pm each day and is provided FREE of charge by the Academic Enrichment for Gifted/Talented in Summer Grant through the Arkansas Department of Education.
During this one-week day camp, students will focus on pop, rock, and jazz music styles in both vocal and instrumental music. Small and large group ensembles, private lessons, studio recording, and special break-out sessions in songwriting will all be part of this experience! Real world artists will lead the camp and offer workshops in music technology, how to succeed in music, and marketing yourself in the music scene. Students will have the opportunity to compose and record their own music in a world-class recording studio. At the end of the week, the students will perform a concert!

This camp provides opportunities for young musicians to stretch and grow in their creativity and musicality in a variety of styles, including Pop, Rock, Jazz, and more. In addition to instrumental and vocal ensembles, there are workshops on songwriting, improvisation, performance practices, and more. All of this culminates in a recording studio session and a camp concert at the end of the week. This camp is one of a kind!
