Artist, Audience & Community Live! presents HuDost

HuDost is Moksha Sommer, from Montréal, and Jemal Wade Hines from Kentucky. Their worldly music weaves a seamless tapestry of folk and rock with an exotic blending of traditional Sufi, Bulgarian, Croatian, Macedonian and Balkan folk music, Farsi, Turkish, Arabic, and sounds that cross all borders.

HuDost’s album ‘of Water + Mercy’ received rave reviews and as an independent release reached #24 in the BILLBOARD SALES CHARTS for Folk/Americana, winning the 2020 Independent Music Award for Social Action Song. They also received two of the ‘Best of Nashville 2020’ awards.

Their album, ‘Anthems of Home’ is a breathtaking original collection of compositions that feature many special guests including Jars of Clay, The Accidentals, and Christie Lenée. Other collaborations include Kevin Clash (Elmo), Kevin Hearn (Barenaked Ladies), Cy Curning (The FIXX), GangstaGrass, Alana Bridgewater, and others.

HuDost features vocals, harmonium (Indian Pump-Organ), NORD Keys, guitars, dulcinet, percussion, and a variety of sonic ambient effects.

They’ve played in front of audiences at Bonnaroo, FloydFest, BhaktiFest, World Café Live, Blissfest, The ARK, the Salvador Dali Museum, Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival, The Islands Folk Fest (Vancouver), The Levitt Pavilions, Nashville’s Bluebird Café, Music City Roots, and many more.
