Adventure begins at Your Library: Summer Reading Program –

All Fort Smith Public Library Locations

Adventure Begins at Your Library is this year’s summer reading theme, and all ages are invited to participate! The Fort Smith Public Library’s annual summer reading program for kids, teens, and adults will begin June 1. The program is one of the many ways the library works to create a community of readers and library users. Through fun themes, activities, and prizes, the summer reading program offers incentives for spending time reading or listening to books. The summer reading program begins June 1 and runs through July 31. Participants can drop by any library location to register or register online at https://fortsmithlibrary.readsquared.com .

Need help? Give us a call or drop by any library location.

Listeners and Independent Readers

The goal of the summer reading program for kids is to read for FUN while encouraging family involvement. Independent readers will earn points for time spent reading. Children too young to read independently can also participate. Because the best way to raise a reader is to read to a child, they will receive credit for each book that is read to them.

Teen Readers

For teens that like to read (books, e-books, and/or audiobooks) AND like to win stuff, the Teen Summer Reading Program is for them! One book equals 100 points. For every 100 points they earn, they’ll be entered into a weekly drawing for a gift card AND earn an entry into the end-of-summer grand prize drawing. The more they read, the more chances they’ll have to win. Register and track reading progress at https://fortsmithlibrary.readsquared.com . They will also be able to download the READsquared app (available for iOS and Android devices).

Adult Readers

For adults that like to read (books, e-books, and/or audio books) AND like to win stuff, then the Adult Summer Reading Program is for them!  One book equals 100 points.  For every 100 points they earn, they’ll be entered into a weekly drawing for a gift card AND earn an entry into the end-of-summer grand prize drawing. The more they read, the more chances they’ll have to win. Register and track reading progress at https://fortsmithlibrary.readsquared.com.  They will also be able to download the READsquared app (available for iOS and Android devices).  Need help?  Give us a call or visit any library location.
