FSPL Holiday Food Drive

All Fort Smith Public Library Locations

Help out local families in need by donating to this year’s Fort Smith Public Library Holiday Food Drive.

One in five people in our area are struggling, one in three rural Arkansas children live in food insecure homes.  Drop off your non-perishable food items at any Fort Smith library location from November 1 –

December 31.  Donations will be accepted all hours that the library is open; all food collected will be given to the Community Clearing House to help the hungry in the Fort Smith area.

DINOvember Scavenger Hunt

The Main Library is celebrating DINOvember with an ext-ROAR-dinary scavenger hunt during the month of November.  If you find all the dinosaurs hidden around the library, let one of the library staff members know and you’ll receive a dino-mite prize!

The Youth Services department at the Main Library is celebrating Thanksgiving by celebrating YOU! Youth Services is thankful for all the kids and teens that visit the library, so they are invited to drop by the Youth Services Department any time during the month of November to pick up a small gift. These gifts will be available while supplies last. Happy Thanksgiving!

The kit, which will be available at the beginning of the month at the library, will feature a sample of the featured spice along with a recipe. Homeschool Enrichment: Artists and Nature Journaling

This month we’ll learn some watercolor basics, including ways we can use watercolor in our nature journaling.  Open to all area homeschoolers—programs are geared toward 4th-12th grade students, but younger siblings are welcome with an adult. First Friday Film: A Separate Peace (PG) – 1972

Join us for this matinee showing of A Separate Peace. Based on the coming-of-age novel by John Knowles, the film is a drama about two roommates at a New England prep school during World War II who grapple with the challenges of war, jealousy, and betrayal. Starring Parker Stevenson and John Heyl. This film runs 104 minutes, is rated PG, and is intended for an adult audience.

The STEAM Team will have a chance to build fun stuff, be active, make art, and even make a mess! In November, STEAMers will get creative and make their own dinosaur skeleton with pasta noodles!

17th Annual Black Tie BINGO Gala
