Authors in the Afternoon with Angela Flake

Award winning author Angela Flake will appear at the Fort Smith Public Library to promote and sign copies of her books Don’t Color Me In: Letting poetry speak to the hearts and minds of our young African American teens and the children’s book, Are My Glasses too Big?  The author enjoys writing to inspire, encourage, and ignite the inner purpose of each person who picks up her book. Publishing her first book in 2019, she continues to find great fulfillment in doing what she calls is never work, but a true love that she gets to embrace every day.  Copies of her books will be available for sale and signing at this open-house style event.

Authors in the Afternoon with Tommy B. Smith

Fort Smith author Tommy B. Smith will appear at the Fort Smith Public Library to promote and sign copies his latest book New Era. Set in the Louisiana countryside west of the Mississippi, in the arms of the Black River, New Era is the first volume in the Black Carmenia series, a tale of murder, treachery, and horrors which transcend time. Tommy B. Smith is a writer of dark fiction, award-winning author of The Mourner’s Cradle, Poisonous, and the coming of age novel, Anybody Want to Play WAR? Copies of the book, as well as others written by Tommy B. Smith, will be available for sale and signing at this open-house style event.

STEAM Team is a program for children ages 8-12 who have an interest in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The STEAM Team will have a chance to build fun stuff, be active, make art, and even make a mess! In October, STEAMers will learn about what materials make things glow in the dark, chemical bonds, and then make their own glow in the dark slime. Supplies will be provided at this free drop-in event.
