Greenwood Fine Arts Academy Announces Major Grant Awards and Community Gifts — Additional Support Needed to Meet Growing Demand Greenwood, Arkansas — Greenwood Fine Arts Academy (GFAA), the region’s rapidly growing nonprofit arts education organization, is proud to announce several significant funding milestones that have strengthened its mission of expanding arts access across the River Valley. Over the past year, GFAA has secured multiple competitive grants and received major philanthropic gifts from community partners. These investments have supported youth theatre, visual arts, intergenerational programming, and early-stage planning for a future dedicated arts facility in Greenwood. Recent funding highlights include:  Sessions Family Foundation – $84,000  Farmers Bank – $25,000  First National Bank of Fort Smith – $25,000  Arvest Foundation – $10,000 “These gifts represent a powerful vote of confidence in the work happening here in Greenwood,” said Gwen Martin, Founder and Executive Director of Greenwood Fine Arts Academy. “They allow us to serve more students, deepen our programming, and take meaningful steps toward establishing a permanent, fully accessible arts facility for our community.” GFAA’s capital project aims to create an accessible, intergenerational arts facility designed for theatre, music, visual arts, film presentation, and community events. The Academy currently operates without a dedicated space, limiting program capacity, rehearsal availability, and equitable access for youth, families and seniors across the River Valley. “Every day, we see the impact the arts have on our students and families — and every day, we also see the limitations of not having a permanent facility,” Martin said. “Grants and major gifts have given us momentum, but the scale of this project requires sustained support from local families, businesses, and donors who believe in what the arts make possible for Greenwood.” GFAA invites the community to join the capital effort through individual giving, business sponsorships, legacy gifts, and advocacy.
