THEATRE TO UNDERGO RENOVATION WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART UPGRADES
Memphis-based Malco Theatres is pleased to announce luxury recliner seating and upgraded amenities at the Fort Smith Cinema.
The theatre, located at 1200 South Waldron Road in Fort Smith, will be renovated to include converting all auditoriums to luxury recliner seats with reserved seating. The theatre will sport a new Malco Bar and Grill option with an expanded menu featuring gourmet selections, adult beverages, and convenient in-seat mobile ordering and delivery. Kids of all ages will be thrilled to test out the Malco Game Zone and interactive game room.
On the tech side, moviegoers will enjoy laser projection in all auditoriums and the Arklahoma debut of the Malco-branded large screen MXT “Extreme” Theatre. The state-of-the-art auditorium will include recliner seats with reserved seating, a fully immersive screen with 4K laser projection, and Dolby ATMOS sound.
“Malco is very excited to announce the Fort Smith Cinema Grill. Malco has been an integral part of the Gateway to the Ozarks market for over 70 years. This upgraded theatre will be something the community will be very proud to have and hopefully will enjoy for many more years to come,” said David Tashie, President and COO. “Our emphasis has always been on quality, and we have always stressed the importance of staying ‘ahead of the curve’ in sight and sound technology. Amenities like power recliners, a robust food menu, an expanded bar, and in-seat mobile ordering with delivery are features that enhance the movie-going experience, and we believe these amenities will add to the already fun and exciting experience of going out to the movies.”
Reloadable gift cards, birthday parties, group discounts (select days and times), corporate rentals, and worship space are also offered. For added customer convenience, lobby kiosks will allow for online/advance ticketing redemption, so patrons can “skip the box office line”. Movie lovers are encouraged to enroll in Marquee Rewards to earn points on purchases.
The theatre will remain open during the conversion, with final renovations expected to be completed this summer. The theatre is open daily, and advance tickets may be purchased via www.malco.com or the Malco app.
