Mercy Fort Smith Project SEARCH to Host Reverse Job Fair Showcasing Talented Individuals with Disabilities

Fort Smith, AR – March 25, 2024 – Mercy Fort Smith Project SEARCH, in partnership with ACCESS® and Arkansas Rehabilitation Services is delighted to announce its upcoming Reverse Job Fair, where the spotlight will shine on the exceptional talents of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

Event Details: 

• Date: Friday, April 5th 

Time: 10-2 pm (Drop in at your convenience) 

Where: Hennessy Education Room at Mercy Hospital – Fort Smith 

Photo/Video Opportunities: 

• Mercy Fort Smith Project SEARCH interns will be available for interviews. 

• Mercy Fort Smith Project SEARCH staff will be available for interviews. 

The Reverse Job Fair serves as a platform for employers seeking dependable, hardworking, and enthusiastic team members to connect with the current interns of the Mercy Fort Smith Project SEARCH program. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with participants, witness their skills firsthand, and explore potential employment opportunities. 

“We are thrilled to host our annual Reverse Job Fair and showcase the incredible talent cultivated through the Mercy Fort Smith Project SEARCH program,” said Kellie McDaniel, Program Instructor Coordinator of Mercy Fort Smith Project SEARCH. “This event not only highlights the capabilities of individuals with disabilities but also underscores the importance of inclusive hiring practices within our community. We currently have 8 hard working interns looking for full and part time employment.” 

Participants in the Mercy Fort Smith Project SEARCH program undergo a 9-month internship focused on workforce and career development. Through hands-on training and mentorship at Mercy Hospital, these individuals acquire valuable skills and experiences, preparing them for successful integration into the workforce. 

Employers attending the Reverse Job Fair are encouraged to bring business cards, as they will serve as entry tickets for a free raffle. The event promises to be an excellent opportunity for networking and discovering talented individuals eager to contribute to diverse workplaces.
