Methodist Village Senior Living (MVSL) is now licensed through the state of Arkansas to educate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
“With the national healthcare staffing challenges we are facing, we are so excited that we can now hold our very own CNA classes on the MVSL Campus! We know this is not only a great opportunity for our campus but for the community as well.”, Said Melissa Curry, CEO. MVSL received its licensure from the state of Arkansas in October 2022 and has graduated two classes, certified nine CNAs to date, and is in the process of a third class.
While students are in class, they earn a minimum wage of $11 an hour; once classes are completed, the students are considered NAs and earn $13 an hour, and once they pass their state test and become an official CNA, they earn $15 an hour.
“MVSL believes strongly in further education and building our company from within. We have team members with years of service of over 27 years, many of whom have worked their way up through the ranks.” Said, Curry. MVSL was able to transition one of our floor LPNs- Abigail Rodriguez, into the educator role for the CNA classes. Abigail has been part of the MVSL team for five years and started as a CNA herself, moving into the role of CNA Coordinator/Trainer, and then on to become an LPN. “Working at MVSL has been a great blessing. To be able to work my way up and now be given the opportunity to teach and shape future CNAs, I’m very grateful. To watch the student’s skills and knowledge grow is very rewarding.”, said Abigail Rodriguez, LPN & CNA Educator.
