This easy shortcake board combines buttery shortcakes, fresh berries, and fluffy whipped cream for a festive Fourth of July treat that guests can build themselves.
INGREDIENTS
(serves 8–10)
8 prepared shortcakes or bakery-style biscuits
1 lb. fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
1 pint blueberries, fresh
2 cups whipped cream/topping
¼ cup strawberry preserves, optional
fresh mint leaves, garnish
METHOD
Arrange the shortcakes on a large serving board or platter. Place the strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream, and strawberry preserves in small bowls and arrange them among the shortcakes. Scatter additional berries around the board and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
To serve, split a shortcake in half and layer with whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries, and a spoonful of preserves if desired.
