Western Arkansas Ballet, a non-profit performing arts organization, will hold open auditions for the 38th annual production of The Nutcracker and The Wizard of Oz, the Spring 2024 Ballet. Candidates should be at least 6 years of age with at least two years’ experience in dance and/or gymnastics; however, there are also parts available for adults and boys with little or no dance experience.
The auditions are Saturday, September 16, 2023 during the following times:
Girls & Boys ages 6, 7 & 8 will be from 10:00 am-12:00 Noon
Girls & Boys ages 9, 10 & 11 will be from 12: 15 pm to 2:15 pm
Girls & Boys ages 12 & up will be from 2:30 pm-4:00 pm

Auditions are held at the Western Arkansas Ballet Studio, 4701 Grand Avenue in Fort Smith, AR. Please wear appropriate dance clothing. The cost to audition for both The Nutcracker and The Wizard of Oz is $60 ($30 is refundable if you are not cast). The cost to audition for a single performance only is $45 ($30 is refundable if you are not cast).
Western Arkansas Ballet’s annual production of The Nutcracker includes a cast of over 100 members from WAB’s Academy and Pre-Professional Company members in addition to other community members. Guest Artists from across the country will join the local cast in this holiday tradition. Performances takes place on Saturday, December 16 at 7:00 pm and Sunday, December 17 at 2:00 pm. The Wizard of Oz, a full-length ballet, will take place Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 7 pm and Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 2 pm.
